How to approach earning money

Work through the trash-searching loop, inspect valuable finds, and decide which cards you can spare before spending on character growth. Official material confirms paid treasures and card sales, but it does not establish a reliable dollars-per-minute route. This guide offers practical considerations, not a claim to the fastest method.

Confirmed income and work systems

  • Valuable finds: the official Steam description says the site owner pays for hidden treasures found in the rubbish. It does not supply a complete reward table, so inspect the actual find rather than budgeting an invented payout.
  • Cards: condition affects value. The August 27 notes also explicitly discuss selling duplicate cards, but matching duplicates may serve a collection purpose instead.
  • Orders and trash clearing: fulfilling the owner's orders is part of the documented work loop. Follow the current requirement and reward shown in your game. Clearing rubbish creates opportunities to inspect finds; this guide does not assume a fixed cash reward for every bag, pile or order.

For how those activities connect, see Gameplay. A separate Orders page is not needed until there is enough verified detail to support one.

Keep, exchange or sell a card?

Use these checks before making a sale:

  1. Is it missing from the collection you want to complete? Keeping it may be more useful than the immediate money.
  2. Is its condition better than your existing copy? Compare collection value as well as the sale offer.
  3. Do you have eligible duplicates for a quality exchange? The August 27 notes explain that three duplicate cards of the same quality can become a higher-quality card, including foil cards.
  4. If you still want to sell, compare the offer shown in your current build with the collection progress you are giving up.

The Cards Hub covers that exchange and the documented sets. Better condition is not proof of guaranteed profit from every exchange: the reviewed sources do not provide a complete price table for comparing three sold copies against one upgraded copy.

Treat figurines, tapes and other collection finds as their own goals. Do not assume every collectible has a sale option or should be converted into cash.

Is repairing a card worth it?

Five fragments can be assembled into a complete card using the documented repair mechanic. Repair can serve a missing collection entry, but the available evidence does not establish a universal repair fee, resale margin or time-to-profit calculation. Use the Card Repair Guide for the process; judge the result against your collection before deciding to sell.

Spending through the collection

These are recommended priorities based on confirmed mechanics, not a tested optimal economy:

  • Early play: learn what your finds do before selling them, and read shop effects and prices before committing your cash.
  • During progression: weigh an upgrade that addresses a recurring slowdown against retaining money for your current goal. The Upgrades Guide explains what is confirmed without assigning invented efficiency multipliers.
  • After maxing all attributes: the August 22 update documents Jenny's cereal-box purchase option at $10,000. See Cereal Boxes before budgeting for it. Neither a foil result nor recovering the purchase price is guaranteed.

Working toward $1,000,000

The game's full title includes earning $1,000,000. That is not evidence for a specific farming strategy or a million-dollar Steam achievement. The public cash achievements list having $1,000, $10,000, $50,000 and $100,000; check the achievement reference for those separate milestones.

If a million is your personal target, track your actual balance, spending and sale decisions. Accumulated earnings and cash currently held are not interchangeable. This guide cannot promise how many sessions the target will take or what it unlocks.

Outdated money advice to avoid

The August 27 update removed the repeat-sale Kotalion farming loop: the developers state that Kotalion can no longer be sold. Do not plan around repeatedly selling and finding that card. The same update clarified duplicate exchanges, so older advice to sell every extra copy also needs reconsideration.

Can I use a guaranteed fast-money route?

No such route is established by the sources used here. Choose a collection or cash objective, follow the current mechanics, and compare actual results instead of trusting fixed income promises.

Where should I go next?

Use Upgrades for purchase decisions or the Guides Hub to choose another part of progression.
